Our Favourite Tea Rooms

You cannot stay in Somerset without tasting one of our finest cream teas.  There are many places within this area for you to go for lunch or afternoon tea but these are a few of our favourite places:-

  • Kilve Beach Tea Rooms, Kilve
  • Horner Vale Tearoom, nr Porlock
  • Periwinkle Cottage, Selworthy (between Minehead and Porlock) (
  • The Carew Arms, Crowcombe (seasonal only), 


Eating Out

If you fancy treating yourselves to lunch or dinner out or just sampling some of our famous Somerset Cider, there are many restaurants and good child-friendly pubs within our area for you to visit.  You will always stroll across some wonderful Inns in all the villages which also offer local ales and pub lunches.  Here is a list of some local places that we enjoy eating out with friends and family that you may like too:-

  • The Carew Arms (our local pub in the neighbouring village of Crowcombe, with good food, local ales and roaring fires!) (
  • Bicknoller Inn (our other neighbouring village offering homecooked food) (
  • The Rising Sun, Bagborough, nr Taunton (
  • The Blue Ball Inn, Triscombe, nr Taunton (
  • The Farmers Arms, Combe Florey ( - a traditional thatched pub with a lovey garden
  • The Hairy Dog, Minehead has a fantastic outdoor play area for children and offers a variety of good pub food for all the family (
  • For a more fine dining experience, we love 'Podshavers' in Bishops Lydeard, nr Taunton (
  • 'The Bengal Spice' is our fabulous local curry house in Williton (tel:  01984 632169).  They will deliver to The Coach House & Gardeners Cottage  for a small fee.  Menu samples are provided in each cottage for you to peruse.
  • If you fancy traditional 'fish & chips', Watchet is the place to go with a few fish & chip shops to choose from.


Eating In 

For those who do not want to eat out but don't fancy cooking either, you could purchase a wonderful frozen meal for all the family to enjoy from Cook (  Cook can deliver to both cottages also.   For grocery shopping, all supermarkets will deliver to both cottages also if you wish to order online (see supermarket deliveries under the 'cottages' tab above)

~  Don't forget our local butchers for those sausages and steaks if you just fancy having a relaxing BBQ in the garden for all to enjoy!
